Life Safety Systems

Incorporated into the Property are various systems specifically designed to detect smoke, report fires, and if necessary, provide a means for safe exit of occupants.

Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP)

  • In the event of an emergency fire situation, the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), is is located in our Main lobby of the building.

  • The FACP identifies all fire alarm devices.

  • Fireman’s Phones are located in stairwells, elevator, and lobbies for use by the Fire Department.

Smoke Detection System

Upon detection of smoke, the smoke detectors will:

  • Automatically shut down the air handling units to prevent the spread of smoke.

  • Provide initial warning of smoke at the FACP located at the outside front of building.

  • Activate audible and visual devices on the fire floor, as well as the floor above it, and the floor below it.

  • Activates stairway-pressurized fans, upon activation of smoke detectors located at the stairway.

Smoke detectors in all elevator corridors will:

  • Provide initial warning of smoke at the FACP located outside front of building.

  • Activate audible and visual devices on the fire floor, and floor above and below it.

  • Activate automatic recall of elevators. Elevator fire service emergency operation. The elevators will be recalled to the primary or secondary landing zones in the event of a fire. Do not attempt to use the elevators. They will be out of service to prevent them from being called to the fire floor. Firefighters will be able to take control of the elevators for firefighting operations.

Manual Fire Alarm Pull Boxes

  • Each floor has 2 Manual Fire Alarm Pull Boxes, located at stairwells.

  • These boxes will cause an audible/visible alarm to be activated on the fire floor, as well as the floor above and the floor below, when pulled.

  • In addition, an alarm indicating the floor affected will be displayed at the FACP.

Fire Extinguishers

  • All Fire Extinguishers in the common areas of the Property are ABC (multi-use). They are located by the stairwells. Operational instructions are on the extinguishers.

Sprinkler System

  • Sprinkler systems are installed on all floors of the Property.

Fire Exits

  • Each floor is serviced by 2 exit stairways, located at the south side of the building (Stairwell A) and the north side of the building (Stairwell B).

  • Twenty-four (24) hours per day, doors are designed so that an individual can enter the stairways from any floor but cannot normally exit onto another floor. In a fire alarm condition, the stairway doors will unlock so you can get from one exit stairway to another.
